Awe of nature comes not just in the composition of the landscape but in the colors and emotions we experience when we truly connect with the earth. Almost everyone can see the beauty of nature, but not everyone can see it the same way.
As an abstract landscape painter, I believe nature scenes invoke feelings of wonder and rapture. Whether it’s a calm, sun-kissed creekside setting, or a saturated, color-drenched sunset, each person views these vistas through their own lenses. My goal is to recreate those emotions through color selection. You may have heard the old saying, "Draw what you see, not what you know is there." My philosophy is to paint with the colors I feel are there.
