An Early Autumn – Acrylic and Modeling Paste on Canvas
30"x40" | Original Painting by Jeanette Johnson
2025
Sometimes an ordinary evening can give you the most inspiring views. I'm no stranger to traveling the backroads, and I highly recommend you start doing it more, too. An Early Autumn is a 30x40-inch original completed in 2025 by landscape artist Jeanette Johnson. This horizontal landscape painting depicts the gradual, calm shift from summer to autumn in eastern Nebraska.
Ditches filled with purple ironweed and cattle grazing in the pasture. This scene was developed from two separate images of a pasture. One direction showed the cattle and ironweed, the other angle showcased the silos and fields.
Why this painting belongs in your space:
- Large and Bold – this painting is large enough to anchor a medium-sized wall or hang above a console table or sofa.
- Memories of the Midwest – Harvestore silos, cattle in the pasture, corn in the fields, and a windmill tower are all familiar scenes of rural America. This golden-hour painting captures the essence of farm life.
- Unframed – this piece is unframed but includes a wire hanger and painted edges, so you can hang it raw or find a frame to match your decor.
